Nigel Denning
Director & Counselling PsychologistNigel Denning is a Counselling Psychologist and Director of Integrative Psychology & Medicine in East Melbourne, a practice he founded a decade ago. Nigel has held various roles in his career. He has been Vice President of the In Good Faith Foundation, clinical director of SANE Australia, Family Violence coordinator for Relationships Australia, Kew, and held various Federal public sector management roles. He ran professional development seminars for the College of Counselling Psychologists for 15 years and sat on the state and national committees. More recently he has co-developed the internationally acclaimed Certificate of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy for Mind Medicine Australia. Nigel is currently co-lead therapist on three clinical trials of psychedelics and is a fellow of the Australian National University. He has previously been a Fellow of the University of Melbourne, where he researched male perpetrator behaviour in family violence under the supervision of Prof Kelsey Hegarty, Faculty of Medicine.
Nigel has also recently released the acclaimed training in Adult Attachment Repair based on the work of Harvard academics, Daniel P. Brown, and David Elliott, training he co-designed and delivers internationally. Nigel provides a number of different trainings through his practice, Integrative Psychology & Medicine and has also provided supervision for over 400 trainees in their Student Clinic, providing low-cost therapy opportunity for people on limited income. Through IPM, Nigel trains in couples work, psychedelic assisted therapy, meditation, metacognition, trauma, cult exiting, family violence. Nigel lectures sessionally through Swinburne University and Ikon Institute. Institutional abuse and collaboration. Nigel is deeply committed to helping the community better understand how their minds and bodies interact and how to heal from intergenerational trauma.
