Panic

Panic is a destabilising and frightening experience. When it occurs without a clear reason, it can significantly constrain people's lives. An extreme example is agoraphobia, where individuals become overwhelmed with panic at the thought of being out in the world. Panic can come on suddenly and inexplicably, often without warning.

Panic is a hyperarousal response—your body’s rapid and extreme reaction to perceived threats. It attempts to amplify your responses to danger. Panic attacks are sudden, intense episodes of fear and physical discomfort that can be incredibly overwhelming and frightening. They leave you feeling out of control and anxious about when the next one might occur.

At Integrative Psychology & Medicine, we understand the profound impact that panic can have on your life. We aim to help you navigate these intense experiences, offering strategies and support to regain control and reduce the frequency and intensity of panic attacks.
