Arts TherapistMIECAT
I am currently completing my Master of Therapeutic Arts, with a background in anthropology, psychotherapy, counselling, and nature connection practices.
My practice is grounded in creating a warm and non-judgmental environment that meets you where you are. I believe relationships are central to our wellbeing, and I aim to support each unique individual in feeling more at home in their relationships to themselves, to others, and to the wider living world. I trust in the inherent wisdom of our bodies' capacity to move towards wholeness when conditions of care, safety, and attuned support are available.
Therapeutic arts is a modality that uses materials, gestures and expression as well as dialogue to bring overwhelming experiences into a form that feels more approachable and meaningful.
Therapeutic arts is not concerned with artistic skill, instead it is a practice of connection with our inherent creativity through the process of making, where curiosity is privileged. Through this process, creativity can become a source of resilience to support us in our everyday lives.
I work from a compassionate and multimodal approach, supporting young people and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, spiritual and existential concerns, emotional regulation challenges, low self-esteem, boundary issues, and neurodivergence.
I see clients at Integrative Psychology & Medicine, East Melbourne and offer online sessions.
